Tetonia School Closed By Illnesses

by Jackson Hole Radio News

Tetonia Elementary Principal Megan Christensen and Superintendent Monte Woolstenhulme of Teton School District 401, have been monitoring absences this week due to the high number of students out because of illness. Between 20 and 25 Tetonia students – or nearly 30% of those enrolled there – have reported absent due to illness this week. The decision was made to close that school for the remainder of the week, starting today. Christensen says the after-school conferences planned for this week, including parent-teacher conferences Thursday and Friday, will need to be rescheduled. Also, there will be no Winter Sports this week. Usually on Wednesdays, Tetonia Elementary School students engage in a variety of outdoor sports. Classes at Tetonia Elementary will resume Monday. Elsewhere, classes throughout Teton School District 401 are not being held on Friday to allow for Parent-Teacher Conferences at the other public schools.
