by Jackson Hole Radio News

The Jackson Hole High School Speech and Debate Team is planning an invitational tournament on this coming weekend which will attract several hundred competitors from throughout the state.  Consequently, the Speech Team is in need of more volunteers to judge for approximately an hour and a half each during the two-day event.  Judging guidelines will be provided and several practice judging sessions will be offered. Judging experience is not required. Coach Londe Gagnon lists the events that will be included as Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, Big Questions, Extemporaneous and Cross Examination Debate, Student Congress, Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oratory, Humor, Drama, Poetry, Program Oral Interpretation, Informative Speaking, Impromptu, and Duet. Gagnon says judging these talented high school competitors is an entertaining and rewarding experience. Refreshments and free babysitting will be provided for the volunteers. Anyone who would be able to volunteer anytime from 5:30 until 9:00 pm Friday evening, or from 7:30 am until 3:00 pm Saturday, should email coach Gagnon at lgagnon@tcsd.orgor call her at 307-699-0537.
