Slow Food in the Tetons is looking for help to get their farm stand near Motel 8 rebuilt in time for the summer growing season.
About midnight, March 17th, a fire heavily damaged the farm stand structure; probably caused by a faulty heater. Slow Foods has set up a “Go Fund Me” account in hopes of raising $10,000 to repair or rebuild and re-equip the facility.
Slow Food Executive Director Scott Steen explains the farm stand is intended to be an educational resource to help shoppers make informed, healthy decisions about the food they eat and where it comes from; as well as to support local and regional growers.
If the money can be raised by May 31st, hopes are to have the farm stand reopened by July 4th. Donations may be made online to gofundme.com/save-the-farm-stand
