The town of Cody has been the latest to experience increased ranging of the Greater Yellowstone grizzly bear population. Wyoming Game and Fish officials were called to investigate animal tracks found on the east side of Cody last week. The wildlife experts determined the tracks had been made by a young grizzly bear, probably weighing between 150 and 250 pounds. However, there was no sign of the bear itself. Bears have not been seen in that area for many years. In mid-April, travelers over Teton Pass witnessed a young grizzly bear foraging near the Coal Creek Parking area – also an incident that had not been witnessed in recent memory.
