Funds Raised For Rooks

by Jackson Hole Radio News

On July 24th, Jackson Hole High School Teacher Jim Rooks went for a bike ride on the Elk Refuge Road and was struck by a car.  Two weeks later, he’s had surgery for a broken back, a 10-day hospital stay, and many physical therapy sessions to learn to simply stand, walk, and get dressed.  He’s also had many sleepless nights due to pain and psychological trauma. According to the GoFundMe campaign, over $13-thousand dollars has been raised so far to assist with Rooks’ medical expenses. The goal set by those who established the campaign had been $10-thousand.
