It was like a scene from a TV show on Idaho Highway 33 last night. Idaho State Police arrested an Indiana man after pursuit that ended west of Tetonia. Police stopped a Volkswagen Passat for speeding on Highway 33 at milepost 119, near the Madison-Teton County line. Troopers identified the driver as 28-year-old Aaron Phelps of Portage, Indiana, and discovered he had multiple felony warrants for his arrest. Phelps fled the traffic stop and Troopers pursued him. Deputies from Madison County and Fremont County Sheriff’s Offices joined the pursuit. Phelps was apprehended near U.S. 20 just south of Sugar City after a short foot pursuit. Phelps was arrested on the three felony warrants, and for felony eluding and resisting arrest.
