Broncs Beat Green River, Head To Star Valley Friday

by Jackson Hole Radio News

Nothing was going to spoil homecoming for the Jackson Broncs as they jumped all over the visiting Green River Wolves from the opening kickoff, posting a 47-0 shutout at William T. McIntosh Stadium.

A cool, wet day with occasional snow flurries did not dampen school spirit as the crowd donned in black-and-orange had plenty of opportunity to cheer on the home team.

Despite turning the ball over twice on fumbles, the Broncs managed to find the end zone seven times, getting to rushing touchdowns from Jeydon Cox and three TD passes from Sadler Smith—two to Peter Goettler and another to Nate Keipert.

As electrifying as the offense looked, the Broncs defense was outstanding in pitching the shutout. Jackson forced six punts from the Wolves, jumped on a loose fumble, and even scored on the team’s first pick-6 of the season with Sam Lopeman scoring on a 10-yard interception return.

Jackson faces archrival Star Valley this Friday in Afton. The Braves are 6-0 on the season, Jackson is 4-2. Kickoff at 6 pm with all the play-by-play action on KZ95.
