Sublette County Unified Fire Department Appoints Gay

The Sublette County Unified Fire Department has a new full-time deputy chief. The county formally appointed Wil Gay to tht position which is the second in command of the fire department, and comes with significant responsibility, including leading the organization in the absence of the Fire Chief. Gay will supervise and coordinate the activities of all six of the Fire Battalions, ensuring proper training, managing firefighters, and providing consistency in the department policies and procedures.

Sublette County Fire Chief Shad Cooper explains Gay has worked in the fire service for over 30 years with the last 23 years as a volunteer in Sublette County. He has also been the county-wide training officer for the last five years and served as a Battalion Chief. Gay assumed his position November 14th.
