JH Broncs Won’t Go To State

Bronc

The Jackson Hole Broncs will not be going to state this year.  Both the girls and the boys attempted to end up in the top four at the regional playoffs in Powell over the weekend but failed.  The girls lost the first game on Thursday to Star Valley but went on to win their second game in the play-offs, 50 to 41 over the Mountain View Buffs.  However, they were eliminated from the competition by the Powell Panthers with a final score of 38 to 27.  The boys defeated Lander the first day, but went down to top-seeded Star Valley Braves 41 to 25 and then lost to the Cody Broncs in their final game of the play-offs 44 to 26.

A Win and A Loss For The Broncs

The first of the regional play-off games in Powell are behind the Jackson Hole Broncs basketball teams now, with the girls taking an embarrassing drubbing at the hands of the Cody Broncs.  At the end of the game, Jackson limped off the court with a 45 to 19 defeat.  They have another chance to remain in state competition with a game today against the Mountain View Buffs.  Meanwhile, the Bronc boys made a strong stand against Lander, finishing their game with a 42 to 37 win.  They next play arch-rival Star Valley this evening.
