Jackson Broncs Lose To The Lyman Eagles

Jackson Hole High School’s basketball teams experienced another route over the weekend as they took on the Lyman Eagles on the road.  By the end of the game, the Lady Broncs found themselves leaving the court with a 42 to 25 loss.  Later in the evening, the boys followed suit with t 57 to 45 loss.  This Friday, it’s a match-up of Western Wyoming’s two Broncs teams with Cody traveling to Jackson for games against the girls and boys here.

Bronc Split Weekend In Basketball

A win and a loss each for the Broncs boys and girls teams were the results of this weekend’s play.  The girls were victorious over Mountain View Friday night with a final score of 37 to 26 and the boys romped over the Buffs 46 to 24.  The following games Saturday resulted in a 62 to 26 loss to Evanston for the girls and a 39 to 25 loss to the Red Devils for the boys.  The Broncs next plan the Star Valley Braves at home Friday night.

The Jackson Hole High School Speech and Debate Team continued dominating 3A competition this season as they won the Kelly Walsh Invitational in Casper over the weekend. This was the team’s fourth win in as many starts this season. Fifteen schools competed at the meet.  Jackson placed first among 3A schools with 38 sweepstakes points, followed by Cody High School with 12 points. Douglas and Rawlins tied for third place.  Next week finds the team traveling to Worland.

It was a good weekend on the basketball courts for the Jackson Broncs.  The boys defeated Pinedale Friday 49 to 27 and went on Saturday to roll over Lander 52 to 37.  Meanwhile, the Lady Broncs beat Pinedale 54 to 27 and then beat Lander Valley Saturday 52 to 40.  The Broncs are on the road this coming weekend against Mountain View on Friday and Evanston on Saturday.

Jackson Hole Broncs came away with a hard-fought win against a top rated 4-A team this weekend while the Lady Broncs found themselves less successful.  Facing the third-ranked 4-A school in the state, the Lady Broncs came home with a 40 to 27 loss to the Red Devils while the boys fought to a heart-stopping 57 to 55 win.  The Broncs are at Pinedale Friday and home Saturday facing Lander.
