Closures for MLK Day

It’s Martin Luther King, Jr Day – also known as Equality Day in Wyoming, and that means town and county offices and facilities are closed for the holiday.  County offices including the Teton County Trash Transfer Station and Recycling Center office will be closed to the public. However, as always, outdoor recycling bins at the Recycling Center are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Teton County Library is also closed.  The day is also  a school holiday.

Speech Team Lands Another 1st

The Jackson Hole High School Speech and Debate Team earned their fifth first place finish of the season at the Kelly Walsh Invitational, held over the weekend in Casper. Jackson scored 29 cumulative points as compared to 28 points scored collectively by the other six 3-A schools entered.  Despite all the first place finishes, Coach Londe Gagnon says the full team has not yet traveled to any of the events.  The team travels this coming weekend to Worland.

In Holiday basketball action, Jackson Hole Bronc Boys were bested by Evanston73 to 49 while the girls were defeated 40 to 26.  Evanston is a 4A team while Jackson is 3A.  The games were played Wednesday in Evanston.
