The Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center has issued an Avalanche WARNING for the Teton and Gros Ventre ranges through noon Monday. Dangerous avalanche conditions exist and large avalanches have been observed. Large to very large natural and human-triggered avalanches are likely. Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended. Wyoming Department of Transportation has issued a statement that they will need to close Highway 22 – Teton Pass – at 9:00 pm tonight (January 11) for avalanche control. Closures could occur earlier if conditions worsen. Large avalanches could keep the highway closed overnight. All efforts will be made to keep the roadway open and safe.
