Airport Reports Mixed Ridership
Jackson Hole Airport last month reported mixed business in passengers through its gates compared with the same month last year. According to a report to the airport board, 4% more passengers arrived on flights into the valley but 3% fewer departed from Jackson Hole. Added to the previous months, that means there has been a 1% decline in arrivals year to date and a 5% decline in departures. At the same time, flights in and out of the valley last month were down 6% from the previous year and 9% year to date – continuing a decline in flights over the past several years. That means the efficiency of the flights still serving the valley has increased by virtue of the seats filled on each flight.
