Fire Danger Rating Reduced In Yellowstone
Yellowstone National Park officials have again lowered the fire rating in the park to “very high” but fire restrictions remain in effect. Eight small fires continue to burn in the park, but do not threaten any public areas. However, back country campsites near two of the fires have been closed as a precaution. The largest of the fires is the 25-acre Dewdrop Fire currently burning in the park’s interior. Park officials point out that each of the park’s fires may put up small columns of smoke that may be visible from the road during the active burning periods.
