WYDOT Collects Core Samples From River
What’s that truck doing in the middle of the river? Actually, the Wyoming Department of Transportation is taking core samples on both sides of the river and mid-stream in preparation for bridge replacements slated for the Snake River South Park bridge and the Flat Creek bridge. With that information in hand, engineers will be able to accurately design the structures to be put into place there. Highway officials say while the equipment is here, it will also be used to sample cores at the Horse Creek area bridge over the Snake.
