Uncle Sam Missing Again

August 15, 2012 Jackson Hole, Town of Jackson No Comments
Uncle Sam

It appears Uncle Sam has gone AWOL again.  The wooden chainsaw carving of the patriotic caricature was removed from in front of the Jackson Hole Playhouse sometime early last week just as it was one year ago.  Fortunately, the carving was returned after last year’s incident.  The six-foot-tall statue of the stereotypical Uncle Sam has a white goatee, a red, white and blue top hat and a tuxedo. It likely has “R. Gallager” carved by its creator somewhere on the statue.  Crimestoppers is offering up to $5000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the theft.  Of course, those people can avoid a lot of trouble by quietly returning the carving to where they found it.
