Bison Licensing Closing
Applications for the fall bison hunt in Wyoming must be completed by the end of this month. Wyoming Game and Fish Spokesman Mark Gocke says the application period concludes February 28th. This time, says Gocke, the Jackson region is the only region offering the hunt. The population objective for the area is 500 animals, but currently Gocke says there are at least 910 animals in the herd. The number of bison is a concern since they share the same winter range with the 6-thousand elk reported there this year. The cost of a bison hunting license is $402 for residents, over $2500 for non-residents.
