Sustainability Loans Available
The Jackson Hole Energy Sustainability Project has recently received a $1.5-million loan from the Wyoming Business Council’s State Energy Office for residential energy retrofit projects in Lincoln and Teton counties. JHESP Executive Director Shelley Simonton says the loan makes the area’s residential energy efficiency program possible for customers from Moran to Star Valley. The program gives no-interest loans to homeowners who borrow up to $7,500 for energy efficiency measures, such as replacing windows and improved insulation, making their homes more efficient and comfortable. Loans up to $20,000 are available at 2.5% interest and can be used for larger projects like solar installations, fuel switching from electricity to gas, ground source heat pumps, and more efficient furnaces. Customers interested in a residential energy efficiency loan must first get an energy audit from Lower Valley Energy
