House Sorts Through Budget
The Wyoming House spent most of yesterday combing through some 60 requests for supplemental funds for projects as part of House Bill One – the 2011 supplemental budget. Ruth Ann Petroff says what was submitted for consideration is what has already been filtered by the Joint Appropriations Committee. Petroff says the requests are based on needs to support programs that have seen more demand due to the recession or to maintain programs that were short-funded. Petroff says the additional funds are made possible because the state has found itself in better financial shape than anticipated during last year’s budget session. In non-budget action, Petroff says the House has approved the amendments to the Teton Land Sale bill and sent it on to the governor for his signature.
