Boy Scouts Travel 50 Miles On Pathway

Cycling MB

The new bicycle path through the county and Grand Teton National Park has provided an opportunity for a group of boys to move one step closer to the rank of Eagle Scout.  Members of Boy Scout Troop 67 last weekend completed a 50-mile bicycle ride from Indian Trails to Jenny Lake and back again, in part to meet the requirements of the Cycling Merit Badge which is one of the badges that may be used to meet those required for the rank of Eagle Scout.  Coca-Cola High Country donated beverages to keep the group hydrated during the day-long event. The ten boys participating ranged in age from 11 to 14 and were accompanied by three mothers, four fathers and one 9-year-old sister.  There 21merit badges required among the standards for achieving Eagle Scout; ten of them are specified and include hiking, swimming or cycling.
