Shober Named Top Tourism Director

Shober Award

Wyoming Tourism Director Diane Shober was named “State Tourism Director of the Year” by the US Travel Association’s National Council on State Tourism Directors this week. The award was presented at the Education Seminar for Tourism Organizations in Boston, Massachusetts.  The award honors a tourism director who has clearly influenced the obvious and measurable improvement of a state or territory’s “travel and tourism profile” with their leadership. That success is measured in relationship to the amount of money and staff the director has allotted. The award is a unique honor as fellow state tourism directors cast the ballots in the election, selecting the individual exhibiting the most impressive achievements. Shober has served as Tourism Director for the State of Wyoming since 2003.
