gasoline prices

Planning to fill up you family car for the long weekend ahead?  Get ready to take out a small loan.  Gasoline prices have shot up yet another dime in the last week.  According to AAA Auto Club’s Fuel Gauge report, the national average is now $3.82 per gallon with the lowest prices to be found through the Rocky Mountain Region and the highest prices on the West Coast.  Wyoming has the fifth lowest price behind Colorado, Arizona, Mississippi, and South Carolina.    Analysts blame Hurricane Isaac for the most recent price increase since several refineries in Eastern Louisiana and Mississippi have been closed, and production at Gulf Coast refineries has been disrupted as well.  AAA Public Relations Manager Michael Green says prices are likely to be going back down by mid-September, but how much that will be is still unknown.  Here in Jackson Hole, Microsoft News reports a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.74 while the average is $3.85 in Teton Valley, Idaho.
