Labor Day In Jackson Hole

Labor Day

It’s Labor Day today which means banks, schools and government offices are closed and some services have been curtailed.  Among them, the Teton County Trash Transfer Station and Recycling Center office will be closed, and the START Bus will run only one bus to and from Jackson on both its Star Valley and Teton Valley commuter routes.  Both routes will have Jackson-bound busses depart at 6:35 am.  Then, the return trip to Star Valley will leave Jackson at 4:50 pm and the Teton Valley-bound bus will leave Jackson at 5:10 pm.  Law enforcement will not be getting a holiday, however, and Lieutenant Tom Kelly of the Wyoming Highway Patrol says troopers will be out and about to assure those celebrating the final long weekend of the summer get home safely.  Kelly says there will be additional troopers on the road to help everyone get home as safely as possible.  As always, Kelly urges everyone in the vehicles to use their occupant restraints, including seatbelts and child seats to improve their odds of survival in the event of an accident.
