Paving Begins on Togwotee

construction

The Wyoming Department of Transportation begins paving on U.S. 26-287 between Dubois and Moran Junction today. Travelers should expect up to 15 minute stop delays in paving locations. Flagging stations will be posted, and pilot cars will lead traffic through the area.  Additionally, HK Contractors, Inc. is planning to pave the parking areas at the Continental Divide and Vista View first, which will finish the Togwotee Pass/Fourmile section. Paving will then move to the Rosie’s Ridge section, and complete the short stretch of highway located west of the Blackrock Bridge, between mileposts 7.5 and 8. The main construction zone located on the Rosie’s Ridge section will be paved last, beginning on the western end at milepost 11, and working east to milepost 14.5. Paving on this 3.5 mile area will continue with an estimated completion time of three weeks, weather permitting.

However, because this is a program about the outdoors, I’ll just talk about the things in the outdoors I’m thankful for. There’s plenty of it. Especially here in Wyoming. We’ve got […]
  • Pelts are nearing prime conditions - November 26, 2014
The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. It’s the amount of daylight, and not the temperature, that causes wild animals to grow longer, thicker coats. If you’re a predator hunter or a trapper, that’s your cue. The pelts are coming into their prime right now, but that doesn’t mean they’re at […]
  • Very Windy in Many Areas, Developing Light to Moderate Snow - November 25, 2014
The I-25 and I-80 corridors and adjacent roads throughout central, eastern and southern Wyoming will see very strong and gusty winds today.  Sustained winds of 25 to 40 mph likely for many areas with gusts to 60 mph or higher in the wind prone locations. Light to moderate snow shower activity will also be increasing […]
