Environmental Groups Promise Litigation
As you might guess, the announcement of plans to de-list wolves in the Greater Yellowstone Area at the end of the month has brought threats from environmental groups to level legal challenges against the decision. Greater Yellowstone Coalition Executive Director Mike Clark calls it a “flawed decision…that shows blatant disregard for public comments – including thousands of GYC members and supporters that offered practical solutions to improve the plan.” Defenders of Wildlife President Jamie Rappaport Clark called the decision a “tragic ending to what has otherwise been one of America’s greatest wildlife conservation success stories.” His group has said it plans to pursue legal action to stop the management plan from moving forward.
