Old Bills Donations Increase

September 10, 2012 Jackson Hole, Teton County, Town of Jackson No Comments
OB 2012

An undetermined number of competitors were on hand again on the Jackson Town Square for Old Bill’s Fun Run 2012 Saturday – but the number again was well into the thousands. To date, Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill and 45 Co-Challengers have contributed $2,305,000 to match the community’s donations, shattering last year’s record of $2,165,000. While donations are still arriving, nearly $4.7 million has been raised so far through the event for local organizations.  Following the race, people strolled through approximately 100 nonprofit booths, learning about the many opportunities in Jackson for activities ranging from recreational to health and human safety as well as environmental preservation. The amount collected for the participating organizations will not be known until later this month as donations are still being accepted at the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole office and online until 5:00 pm on Friday. Of course, the final dollar amount raised and match percentage will be announced October 22nd at the Old Bill’s Awards Party.

The SuperWife and I took the kids fishing on Labor Day. Usually, going fishing on a holiday is a bad idea. There tend to be crowds just about everywhere you go. But even on a national day off, you can avoid having to share space with other anglers if you get well off the beaten […]

In my opinion, everybody should go hunting each weekend of the hunting season. You don’t have to go after elk or deer every time. Change it up a little. Hunt doves on the first weekend, then try to get a blue grouse or two the next. Later in the fall, you can start working duck […]
  • The Grizzlies Won’t Be a Pushover [AUDIO] - August 29, 2014
The Wyoming Cowboys open up their football season at home against Montana tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon in Laramie.  It’s the first meeting between the two schools since 1997, and the Grizzlies enter the game as the fifth-ranked team in the FCS. On defense, the Cowboys top priority is to stop the run.  With a talented quarterback […]
  • Warmer Temperatures With Isolated Thunderstorms Expected Today - August 29, 2014
A weak ridge of high pressure will build over the region today, which will allow temperatures to become warmer and closer to average statewide.  However, some lingering low-level moisture and daytime heating could trigger a few hit or miss thunderstorms for the afternoon and early evening hours.  Gusty winds and lots of lightning will be […]
