Old Bills Donations Increase
An undetermined number of competitors were on hand again on the Jackson Town Square for Old Bill’s Fun Run 2012 Saturday – but the number again was well into the thousands. To date, Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill and 45 Co-Challengers have contributed $2,305,000 to match the community’s donations, shattering last year’s record of $2,165,000. While donations are still arriving, nearly $4.7 million has been raised so far through the event for local organizations. Following the race, people strolled through approximately 100 nonprofit booths, learning about the many opportunities in Jackson for activities ranging from recreational to health and human safety as well as environmental preservation. The amount collected for the participating organizations will not be known until later this month as donations are still being accepted at the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole office and online until 5:00 pm on Friday. Of course, the final dollar amount raised and match percentage will be announced October 22nd at the Old Bill’s Awards Party.
