Include Radios In Emergency Kits

As National Preparedness Month continues, different agencies are providing tips for considerations residents may make to keep themselves and their families as safe as possible.  As family emergency kits are being put together, Chris Jones of the National Weather Service in Riverton says an all hazards NOAA weather radio provides critical information in the event of a variety of emergencies. While there are a variety of emergencies that could impact Jackson Hole, Jones admits a majority of the most common possibilities are probably weather-related anyway. Jones says the radios are very affordable and are available from local electronics and discount stores.  The frequency can also be programmed into residents’ scanners or two-way radios.
