Family Seeks “Understanding & Patience”

Little Horse Thief

The family of the man whose home was in the area of where the Little Horsethief Canyon Fire started has sent an open letter through the media to the community concerning the incident and asking for the community’s “understanding, patience and prayers as we endure this tragedy as privately as we are able.”  Jay and Jason Anderson wrote that the consequences of the fire are being realized acutely in their homes.  In their words, “Our father, James Anderson, who turned 76 years of age last month, is visibly shaken.  He was and remains extremely distraught about the ignition of the Little Horsethief Fire and the effect it has had on friends, families and community members that he has lived with, and been close to, for so many years.”  The letter goes on that Anderson is working with the authorities as they conduct their investigation.   The fire started just before 3:00 pm Saturday and in minutes spread over 100 acres up the Wilson Canyon.  At this point, authorities say their investigation is still under way.
