Wild Animals Strolling Through Town’s Neighborhoods
Jackson Hole residents have reported seeing animals in residential areas of the town and county where they are not typically seen this time of year. This may be due to the increased firefighting activities south of Snow King Mountain. However, Mark Gocke of Wyoming Game and Fish says fires themselves don’t usually impact animals all that much. More likely, he says, this summer’s drought conditions have contributed to them seeking out food sources in more diverse areas. Still, Emergency Management authorities are cautioning people throughout the area to give the wild animals a wide berth and let them continue their movement through the area. If they are witnessed getting a food reward or otherwise interacting negatively with humans, it should be reported to the Teton County Sheriff’s Office.
