Work Continues Sunday Near Game Creek
Work continues today securing a perimeter around the Little Horsthief Canyon Fire with a particular focus today on completing structure protection in the Game Creek area. These measures have already included setting up a pump and sprinkler system to compliment bulldozer and hand lines along the southern perimeter of the fire. Afternoon breezes have been causing increased fire activity in some unburned pockets within the fire lines. Once again, there are 669 people working the fire augmented by nine helicopters, 46 engines, three bulldozers and several air tankers. To date, $4.7-million dollars has been spent on suppressing this fire.
