Officials at the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole say while donations to non-profits through Old Bill’s Fun Run have not yet been tallied, a sizable number of people returned to the foundation during the last week donations were being accepted to make follow-up donations to Jackson Hole Fire/EMS.  The local fire department had guided successful efforts to protect the southeastern corner of Jackson when the Little Horsethief Canyon Fire threatened to drive over the ridge and into town early last week.  However, during their first day of fighting the fire, one of the department’s wildland engines was consumed by the blaze.  Fire officials from the Type 2 team called in to battle the fire suggested the department could benefit from financial donations as they faced replacing the engine.  Meanwhile, Foundation Spokesperson Nicki McDermott says donations to Old Bill’s this year are providing a record-breaking match amount with 45 co-challengers giving $2.3-million to the annual fundraiser.
