Parks Provide End-of-Season Attraction

Yellowstone Fall

This time of year in the nearby national parks means facilities and visitor services are closing – but at the same time, the fewer crowds, the wildlife activity and the fall colors make it a great time to visit.  Yellowstone National Park officials point out that the roads in the nation’s first park remain open through November fifth, but the changeable weather as the autumn progresses can make travel in the park challenging or even questionable at times.  Spokesman Al Nash says visitors should call ahead to check on the availability of roads and facilities.  In Grand Teton National Park , the Jenny Lake and the Laurance S Rockefeller Visitor Centers have closed while the hours of operation at the other visitor centers have been reduced.
