Voter Registration Day
Today is National Voter Registration Day – set aside as an opportunity to remind citizens of the importance of registering to vote in the November 6 general election. Wyoming State Election Director Peggy Nighswonger says in this state, that process couldn’t be easier. She says they can register in person at the county clerk’s office, mail a voter registration form to the county clerk, or show up on election day and register and vote at the polls. Nighswonger says in order to be eligible; residents need to be a U.S. citizen, and 18 years old by Election Day. Secretary of State Max Maxfield told Jackson Hole Radio News last week that while turn-out for the primary election last month was very poor, he is optimistic that those numbers will be much better in the general election.
