Jennifer Jellen last week was named the 2012 Ambassador-of-the-Year by the Teton Raptor Center. Jellen was praised for not only caring for the birds, but also sharing her love for them with others. Since she took Raptor Basics last fall, a class that introduces new volunteers to the birds, raptor husbandry and TRC protocols for handling and treatment, Jellen has presented educational programs for TRC, as well as served as a member of the “RaptorFest” committee, helping with logistics and sponsorships for TRC’s annual community celebration of birds of prey on Father’s Day. Meanwhile, Barbara Arnett was presented Golden Owl Award. That award was initiated last year to celebrate the unsung heroes of Teton Raptor Center – individuals who “give a hoot,” most often behind the scenes.

But you’d be wrong. The last total lunar eclipse visible in Wyoming was way back in 2009, if I’m not mistaken. So I’ve been looking […]

  • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
