Fraudulent Phone Calls Target Wyomingites

Wyoming Secretary of State Max Maxfield is issuing an urgent consumer warning. The Secretary of State’s office is being misrepresented in automated telephone solicitations across the state. Wyomingites are receiving telephone solicitations which lead people to believe the Secretary of State has released information which shows they may be eligible for changes to their auto insurance. Maxfield says the claims are completely false.  The state does not have any such information about consumers and does not endorse any particular type of auto insurance.  Maxfield  says the area code that phone number “appears” to originate from begins is 307 area code leading people to believe the call is from a Wyoming company. Maxfield urges individuals to be cautious when receiving these types of phone solicitations.
