Evacuation Advisory Lifted For Red Top Meadows
The evacuation advisory for the Red Top Meadows area has been cancelled now. County officials made the decision to cancel the advisory just before noon. Fire officials say the Rock Creek Fire is reported to be limited smoldering in some areas within the fire’s 33-acre perimeter and approximately 15 firefighters are on the lines securing the perimeter and dousing hot spots. Containment is anticipated by the end of today and control tomorrow. Those in the area are still advised to watch for fire equipment and personnel. Investigators have still not established a cause for the fire, but say there had been lightning in the area earlier in the week as well as hunting activity. Once again, the evacuation advisory has been cancelled for the residents of Red Top Meadows.
