“Take-Back” Campaign Successful
The Jackson Police Department’s prescription drug “Take-Back” effort Saturday, held in cooperation with Smith’s Food and Drug and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration was highly successful, according to Police Lieutenant Cole Nethercott. Nethercott says the event is staged periodically to prevent increased pill abuse or theft. Medications collected are then turned over to the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation for destruction. Nethercott says Saturday’s drive collected nearly seven pounds of medications. He adds that those who were unable to participate in the “Take-Back” program but have unwanted prescription medications they would like to surrender for destruction can call the police department and arrange to drop off the medications at the Jackson Town Hall.
