The completion of the bike path from Jackson to Moose which just completed its inaugural summer season, has brought with it some concerns which Grand Teton National Park officials say need to be addressed.  Furthermore, Spokesperson Jackie Skaggs says that to an extent, the problems where the pathway intersects Gros Ventre Junction have persisted into the fall season.  This, she says, includes cyclists who are traveling north and south on the pathway and crossing the Gros Ventre Road, and also cyclists trying to cross the five lanes of Highway 89.  In light of that, Skaggs says the Park recently asked the Federal Highway Traffic and Safety Engineer  to visit the site and provide some recommendations for a pathway-safe crossing at the Gros Ventre Junction Intersection.  Skaggs says the situation is only in the beginnings of the study stage, but it is hoped some sort of solution can be implemented by next summer season.  Skaggs says the Park is hoping to get that report in the next couple of months and will look at what can be done before there is increased bicycle use there again next summer.  Meanwhile, the portion of the pathway between Gros Ventre Junction and Moose remains open until the snow flies, just like the segment from Moose to Jenny Lake.
