Grizzly Relocated Again To Teton County

bear trap

Teton County has another new Ursine resident after it was banished from Park County, Wyoming for inappropriate behavior.  According to Wyoming Game and Fish Spokesman Mark Gocke, the sub-adult male grizzly bear had been damaging apple trees and frequenting a residence near Wapiti, and was captured and deported October 10th.  Gocke says the bear was relocated to the Blackrock Creek drainage of Bridger-Teton National Forest east of Moran.  That release site is in currently occupied grizzly bear habitat.  Gocke assures that when selecting a relocation site, the Department makes every consideration to minimize potential conflicts with livestock and people in its new home.
