Raid In Alta Yields Variety of Drugs

Jackson Police received information last Wednesday about an Alta, Wyoming resident growing marijuana.  The tip resulted in a search of the property where it was reported by a team consisting of Jackson Police Officers, Teton County Sheriff’s Deputies and an Agent from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.  Lieutenant Cole Nethercott says the investigators seized several items including psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, Amphetamines, numerous controlled substances in pill form, other drug related contraband, cash and harvested marijuana.  Nethercott says by the time the search took place, the marijuana growing operation was no longer active. Then Friday, 38-year-old David Kemp of Alta, who had been out of town during the search, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, cultivation of marijuana, and possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.  Nethercott says the Jackson Police Department said it was continuing to process evidence in the case, some of which will be sent to the Wyoming Crime Laboratory for further testing and analysis.
