Fire Danger Dropped To “Low”
It probably comes as no surprise given the current weather conditions that Teton Interagency Fires has dropped the region’s fire danger rating now all the way to “low.” None-the-less, fire officials are again reminding hunters and others in the forest for recreational purposes that a low fire danger does not mean no fire danger. Regardless of the rating, those using open fire such as a campfire or warming fire should always be sure the fire is cold to the touch before walking away from it. Likewise, the rating for the remainder of Teton County has also been dropped to low. Meanwhile, wildland engine 4 with seven Interagency firefighters has been sent to Rocky Mountain National Park to assist in the suppression of the Fern Lake fire which now involves 690 acres inside that national park.
