Another Bear Comes To Teton County

bear trap

Another bear for Teton County:  the Wyoming Game and Fish Department trapped and relocated an adult male grizzly bear on Saturday.  The bear was captured for feeding on garbage at a residence near Wapiti, Wyoming.  In cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bridger-Teton National Forest, the bear was relocated to the Blackrock Creek drainage on the Bridger-Teton National Forest approximately 40 miles northeast of Jackson.  The release site is located in currently occupied grizzly bear habitat, and this is not the first bear to be relocated there.  The decision to relocate and the selection of a relocation site is made taking into consideration the age, sex, and type of conflict the bear was involved in.
