Weather Closes Roads, Brings Restrictions
Winter has come to Northwestern Wyoming’s highways. Yesterday’s weather not surprisingly led to some travel restrictions in northwestern Wyoming. In Yellowstone National Park, Craig Pass between Old Faithful and West Thumb, the road between Canyon and Norris, the South Entrance all the way to Canyon Village and the East Entrance to Fishing Bridge all were closed to any traffic, including administrative travel. The highway between Yellowstone and Cody was also closed due to winter conditions. Wyoming Department of Transportation invoked the chain law on Teton Pass for the first time this season Monday afternoon (and it remains in effect now). Elsewhere on the routes around Jackson Hole, WYDOT advised motorists to watch for slick spots due to the snowfall and falling temperatures.
