B-T Christmas Tree Organizer Provides Tips To Neighbors
Remember the hoopla and celebration in 2010 as Jackson shipped off the Capitol Christmas Tree to Washington from a location on Bridger Teton National Forest north of town? Colorado has the honor this year and will harvest the tree next week from the White River National Forest near Meeker. Finding themselves neighbors to the highly successful celebration in Wyoming two years ago, organizers contacted Bridger Teton National Forest’s Mary Cernicek and sought out tips learned from the event here. Cernicek says the organizers were intrigued with how Wyoming involved social media in the statewide event including a Facebook Page for the event. As in Wyoming, the tree will make a circuit through the state so that residents can view it and sign a truck-sized greeting card. The tree will then be delivered to Washington DC on November 26th.
