A Kelly woman was seriously hurt when she lost control of her pick-up truck on icy roads in Hoback Canyon Thursday morning, and plunged about 100 feet down an embankment and into the Hoback River.  The incident took place shortly before 10:00 am. Lieutenant Tom Kelly of the Wyoming Highway Patrol says79-year-old Justine Bruteig spent some time in the river while rescuers responded from town to extricate her and suffered from the cold in addition to her injuries, which he termed as fairly serious.  Kelly says personnel from the highway patrol, Jackson Hole Fire-EMS and Teton County Search and Rescue collaborated to free Bruteig from the wrecked vehicle and get her up to the waiting ambulance which took her to St. John’s Medical Center for treatment.  Kelly says officers responded to a large number of more minor accidents and slide-offs through much of the day as a result of the snowy and slick roads around the county.
