Bear Managers Meet This Week
The Yellowstone Ecosystem Subcommittee of the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee holds its fall meeting tomorrow and Thursday in Bozeman, Montana. The group is made up of multiple agencies that are responsible for the recovery and management of the grizzly bear in the Yellowstone Ecosystem. On the agenda for this meeting are reports about the number and types of conflicts that have occurred this year as well as current population statistics. Unlike the previous year, Subcommittee officials point out that there have been no human fatalities due to grizzly conflicts this year. The meeting is open to the public and provides an opportunity for members of the public to comment about bear issues.
