Bison Case Concludes In Montana
The debate over whether to permit migrating bison to range over 70-thousand acres north of Yellowstone National Park wrapped up in district court in Billings Monday, and now the matter is in the hands of Judge Wayne Phillips. At issue is a concern by local ranchers that the bison could spread the disease brucellosis among domestic cattle herds grazing there. Attorneys representing the ranching interests made their closing arguments Monday. Phillips says he plans to rule in the case after November 26th to allow more information to be filed in conjunction with the case.
