Restoration Planned At Elbow Boat Ramp
Some changes are in store for those accessing the Snake River at the Elbow Boat Ramp in the Snake River Canyon. Bridger-Teton National Forest has partnered with Snake River Fund to complete streambank restoration work at the ramp. The project includes replanting of willow in areas that were previously used by vehicles to access the river, fencing to protect the young plants, and placement of features to guide pedestrian access to the river. In 2010, a new boat ramp was installed at a downstream location to lessen the ongoing streambank damage and improve water quality. Funds for the project were generated from the Forest Service Wild and Scenic Rivers Program.
