Wyoming Woos Technology
Governor Matt Mead Friday signed a bill creating incentives for attracting data centers. As he signed the bill, Governor Mead said he was very excited for the measure because it helps to diversify the state’s economy. Mead says the measure sends a great message to the state’s younger generations in particular that when it comes to technology and high tech businesses, Wyoming wants to be a leader. The bill modifies the requirements for an exemption from sales and use taxes for computer software of data processing service centers and provides for additional sales and use tax exemptions for those centers in order to attract mega-centers to the state and create a host of high-tech jobs for residents.
