National Parks Observe Veterans’ Day
To salute and honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces, the National Park Service continues to recognize Veterans Day by offering a day of free entry. The practice began in 2006, and each year, all 398 national park units across America will offer vets free admission on Veterans Day and the preceding. Those veterans visiting Grand Teton National Park and the portions of Yellowstone National Park on the northern end that are still accessible do so this weekend at no charge. Park officials also encourage active duty personnel to pick up the new America the Beautiful Military Pass for use any time of the year at all national parks, wildlife refuges or federal sites that normally charge an entrance fee.
