Two volunteers with the Bridger Teton Branch of the American Red Cross of Wyoming were recognized with the “Extraordinary Service Award” during the regular meeting of the local Red Cross volunteers Thursday night.  Branch Director James Flower says the awards were presented to Ben Tucker and Craig Kirkpatrick – particularly in light of the amount of time they put in during the Little Horsethief Canyon Fire this summer. Additionally, Flower says Kirkpatrick has agreed to take over the volunteer position of Assistant Branch Chief.  The two volunteers were awarded certificates suitable for framing.  Meanwhile, Flower says the local Red Cross is recruiting new volunteers to augment the 40 or so residents currently involved since those resources would be severely stretched in the event of a serious emergency in the valley.
